چکیده
Abstract Objectives To describe the outcomes of postoperative tracheostomy and determine predictors survival. Design Prospective, observational study. Setting Cardiac surgical intensive care unit a tertiary hospital. Participants All pediatric patients below 10 years age who underwent after cardiac surgery from January 2019 to December 2019. Different variables were compared between survivors nonsurvivors. Intervention Tracheostomy. Results Among 1084 during study period, 41 (3.7%) received tracheostomy. Survival rate was 71%. Earlier, sternal closure (SC) (p = 0.04), acute kidney injury (AKI) 0.001), serum C-reactive protein (CRP) 0.007), duration total parenteral nutrition (TPN) 0.005) days feed interruption (FI) 0.02), activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) before 0.006), bleeding site 0.02) significantly low in survivor group. peritracheostomy taken at different points, levels pH on day 1 0.03), lactate 2 0.01) 3 0.01), random blood sugar (RBS) 0.04) lower The arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2) platelet count higher Conclusions Our demonstrated survival 71% among cohort. Lesser open sternum, incidence AKI, less number TPN FI, posttracheostomy aPTT, bleeding, RBS, lactate, pretracheostomy SaO2 found be
